The "blue flag"

The "blue flag" is an European award for beach quality. It is assigned annually by the German association for environmental education after having passed various criteria like microbiological and physical-chemical parameters, sewage treatment, environmental consciousness, security aspects as well as environmental information at the holiday destination.

DGzRS / SAR

The DGzRS (German Castaway Saving Society) is domiciled in Bremen. It is financed exclusively by donations. The DGzRS boat "Barsch" is domiciled in the historic lifeboat station of the Baltic resort Wustrow. Thanks to a transport vehicle it can be used for services at the Baltic Sea or the inner bay.

DLRG

The lifeguards of the German Life Saving Society (DLRG) are on-site from June to September from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and watch over the safety at the beach and in the water.
