Special attractions are the unique amber embeddings and precious amber artworks of the 16th and 17th centuries as well as artistic amber works of the 20th century. Centre of attraction is also the faithful reproduction of a panel part from the dado of the legendary amber chamber.

Since millenia amber is fascinating the humans. Yet in Neolithic graves amber amulets and adornment have been found. In the ancient world the "Gold of the north" reached the Mediterranean area on the so called amber streets. The Slaves at the southern Baltic Sea used the amber and the Vikings applied them as means of payment. In the Middle Ages amber has been used almost exclusively for rosaries. In farmacies the white amber powder was provided as medicine.

Demonstration manufactury

Another main attraction is the demonstration manufactury. Here the traditional techniques of amber work, especially amber turning, are presented. Visitors have also the chance to draw up their own amber souvenir. The demonstrated manufactured pieces are offered for sale afterwards.

In the museum shop amber literature, geologic samples and incluses, amber adornment and souvenirs from amber are available.
