Thanks to the glacier we dispose of a fascinating contrast to the flat coast area - the valley of the river Recknitz. The Recknitz wriggles through swamp land and meadows to the inner bay of Ribnitz.

The Darßer Ort with its 150 years old lighthouse lies on one of the most beautiful places of the German coast in the midst of the national park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft".

Ahrenshoop

Prerow
The 5 km long and up to 100 m wide sandy beach of the Baltic resort is one of the most beautiful beaches at the German Baltic Sea coast. The beach is stoneless, little windy and child-friendly and offers a really relaxing swimming and bathing pleasure.
Zingst

Amber museum
The German amber museum in Ribnitz-Damgarten presents the largest German amber exhibition. The unique collection gives an insight into the natural history and geology of the fossil resin and leads through the history of art and culture of the Baltic amber.
Mushroom and nature museum
The private exhibition contains approximately 250 mushroom species in their habitat, about 2,000 species of the worldwide most beautiful butterflies and approximately 200 preparations of domestic birds and mammalians.

Country-specific examples of rural buidling from the 17th until the early 20th century are presented in the worth-visiting open-air museum Klockenhagen. These include, amongst others, diverse farm houses, a bakery and a windmill.
