Baltic spa resort Graal-Müritz
The Baltic spa resort Graal-Müritz is one of the most scenic places at the Baltic Sea coast in Mecklenburg. Here, where forest and sea encounter, visitors and spa patients find relaxation year-round.

The biggest contiguous mixed forest area of the German Baltic Sea coast, the Rostocker Heide, is extended around Graal-Müritz. The community is easterly defined by the Müritz-Ribnitzer upland moor, an unique biotope with scarce and elsewhere yet extincted plants and animals. Both are famous hiking areas, if individually on one of the well marked tracks or in a team on one of the numerous offered and guided bycicle or hiking tours.
The 5 km long, white and sandy beach is populated by the old and young during the summer months. The blue flag, flaunting at the Baltic sea pier, promises great amusement in the refreshing, clear and clean Baltic Sea water.
Rhododendron park
Graal-Müritz offers a special attraction for garden nursery lovers. About 60 different species of rhododendron and azalea flourish in the beautiful spa gardens. More than 2,000 plants of luscious green and bright colours generate the breathtaking glory.
The 4.5 ha park is situated in the community's centre. It has been build on a former sandpit in the years from 1955 to 1961 by the Rostock landscape gardener Friedrich-Karl Evert. The park is unique in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and one of the biggest in Germany. The rhododendron hails from North America and Eurasia and can reach a height of up to 6 metres.

The rhododendron park has been declared memorial in December 1986.
